Building the Blocks to Leadership

Syerita Kimbrough, CEO

Mrs. Syerita Kimbrough has a background that spans the fields of law enforcement to education.  She holds four degrees, an Associate of Arts in Information Processing, a Bachelors of Science in Public Administration with an emphasis in Law Enforcement, an MBA in Human Resource Management and a Masters of Science in Education with a specialization in Instructional Design for Online Learners.  She hold a teaching certification in Business (7-12) and a Career Development Certification.

Mrs. Kimbrough recently resigned from her position as a Career Specialist at Stonewall Jackson Youth Development Center, a juvenile facility, to focus on starting Game On Business Institute, LLC  with her husband, Dr. Kimbrough, to reach a greater audience.  Mrs. Kimbrough had been with North Carolina Department of Public Saftey for over five years.  During her tenure, she managed to reform the vocational programming at Stonewall Jackson with speaker and workshop series, organizing several fairs to include career, college and community exploration for our residents.  She is a big proponent of life skills, and financial literacy was a major part of programming.  Additionally, she was elected as North Carolina's Department of Public Safety's Teacher of the Year for the 2015-2016 school year.  Although Mrs. Kimbrough is no longer at the juvenile facility, her new journey with Game On Leadership Institute will be focused more on helping this population and others in need of leadership building.

Building Confidence, Creating Competence

Dr. Joesph E. Kimbrough, President

Dr Kimbrough is a renowned speaker, author, educator, engineer, and frequent radio/television guest correspondent. He delivers high energy messages that engage, equip, elevate and encourage businesses, communities and educational institutions to improve outcomes.

After overcoming many obstacles from failing the 1st grade to being in the foster care system, Dr. Kimbrough persevered despite all odds to not only earn his Master of Science Degree in both Manufacturing and Engineering Management, but a Doctorate of Education in Leadership and Management. In addition, he has earned his Lean Six-Sigma Master Black Belt and Executive Leadership Coaching Certifications. Dr. Kimbrough is the author of Game On: Tools and Strategies for Living on Purpose and the Struggle: Discovering the Leader Within.

Dr. Kimbrough has held various positions form college professor to senior corporate quality director. After downsizing and bankruptcy occurred at Chrysler Corporation during the global recession, Dr. Kimbrough reinvented himself and founded Sensible Business Consulting Group (SBCG), LLC. SBCG motivated and fostered positive attributes in providing comprehensive quality training and consulting services. Ultimately, with esteemed recommendations from workforce development agencies, a licensed proprietary school named Sensible Business Career and Training Institute (SBCTI) was created. SBCTI offered certified training for high demand occupational fields amid the high unemployment rate. In 2018 Dr. Kimbrough reinvented himself once again by forming Game On Leadership Institute, LLC, with his beautiful wife Syerita Kimbrough.

Author Pens New Book, Launches Game On Institute

Focuses on Tools and Strategies for Living On Purpose

DETROIT, MI – Dr. Joseph E. Kimbrough’s newest book, Game On: Tools and

Strategies for Living On Purpose (ISBN 978-1-937400-50-7), offers readers a roadmap

to success based on business leadership principles for creating a satisfying life. He

writes, “Winning in business and in life requires similar skills such as setting goals,

managing time and developing leadership traits.”

Inside the book you will learn:

1. How to identify and hone your personal leadership traits

2. How attitude affects goal setting and achievement

3. How to develop and execute a plan for a better you

4. How to manage your time efficiently

5. How to achieve success one accomplishment at a time

6. The keys to effective communication

7. How to leverage your character to lead others

8. Conflict management skills and the value of being assertive

Kimbrough felt prompted to launch the Game On Institute, a personal coaching system

to help participants find and develop leadership skills within, after increasing demand for

this information. He says, “One of the things we talk about in the book is whether

leaders are born or made. A lot of people feel that leaders are born, so there’s no point

in trying. That’s not true. You can learn different skills that will take your life to the next

level.” And this is the impetus for launching the institute.

Dr. Kimbrough launched the book and the institute after having conducted numerous

workshops, using the book as the basis of the sessions. Game On: Tools and

Strategies for Living on Purpose is available at Amazon, Barnes & Noble and major

retailers nationwide and retails at $18.95. It is a top selling book for publisher Manifold

Grace Publishing House.
